Salute to Vienna 2010
Rittenhouse Orchestras rang in the new year once again with the Salute to Vienna concert series! Performing 4 days straight in 4 different cities, our 65-piece orchestra performed a lively concert of waltzes, polkas and operettas in the spirit of the world famous Viennese Neujahrskonzert. Under conductor Niels Muus we accompanied soprano Akiko Nakajima and tenor Karl Michael Ebner as well as members of the Vienna Dance Project. We travelled to the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ, The Lincoln Center in New York City, The Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD and finally back to the Kimmel Center right here in Philadelphia. We have performed for this concert series for the past 8 years and it’s always a wonderful experience full of lively spirit and culture.
